Business Developer in translational MedTech project (100%)

ReflectUS, an ETH Zurich Spin-Off project, in collaboration with the Computer-assisted Applications in Medicine Group, is developing a new diagnostic device for breast cancer based on innovations in ultrasound imaging. ReflectUS enables women of all ages to receive safe and reliable breast cancer diagnosis without radiation and discomfort. Our technology is the winning technology of the Spark Award 2016 (https://www.ethz.ch/spark-award).

The next project stage will translate our benchtop prototype into a clinical product.

We are searching for a motivated candidate willing to join our team as:

Business Developer in translational MedTech project (100%)

The tasks will involve building a business model for a start-up company. This involves the quantitative evaluation of different business strategies, collecting extensive customer feedback to determine market and product requirements. The candidate will shape a business plan and prepare the startup for investors, clients and partnerships. Finally, he/she will develop a compelling marketing pitch and present the startup in front of customers and investors and at international MedTech fairs.

We are looking for a candidate with a master in management, technology and economics (MAS MTEC) or related areas. Prior experiences in commercialization and fundraising of clinical products are a must. The successful candidate has ideally been exposed to clinical market analysis, medical device regulatory guidelines (CE, FDA), OEM partnerships, and the distribution and sales of clinical products. Knowledge of medical imaging technologies (ultrasound, X-ray) and breast diagnosis is preferential. A self-starter goal-oriented personality, with the ability to support a technically demanding project and with excellent communication skills in English and German rounds up the profile.

We offer exposure to an exciting mixed clinical-technological project, access to a network of experienced business coaches and clinical key opinion leaders and the opportunity to grow within a new creation start-up.

The candidate will be employed as part of an ETH Pioneer Fellowship. The preferred starting date is as soon as possible.

Please submit your application to Dr. Sergio Sanabria (ssanabria@ethz.ch), including a comprehensive CV and motivation letter.
